Canonical description

Rally Dynasty is a rally management game by an independent developer, starting in 1973 and rolling on past today. You run one family team through five regulation eras: hiring drivers, building cars, managing exact money and real time. Heirs inherit the team when a driver retires or dies. It is unofficial and unlicensed, in the spirit of the classic World Rally Championship decades. Platforms: PC (web/Steam) and Android.

The five eras

EraYears
World Championship and Group 41973-1981
Group B1982-1986
Group A1987-1996
World Rally Car1997-2016
The modern era2017-today

Inside those five, finer regimes change under the player: the Group B start ban from 1987, the 2,500-unit homologation floor from 1993, the central service park and cloverleaf itinerary from 2004, control tyres from 2008, 1.6 turbos from 2011, Rally1 hybrid from 2022 and Rally1 without hybrid from 2025.

Championships modelled

World Rally Championship. European Rally Championship. Plus more than fifty further series, among them: the British, Finnish, Polish, Italian, German, French, Swedish, Spanish, Belgian, Irish Tarmac, Greek and Cypriot national championships; the USSR Rally Championship (to 1991); the Estonian Rally Championship (from 1959); the Friendship Cup of Socialist Countries (1967-1989); the Czechoslovak championship (to 1992) and the Czech championship that followed it; the FIA European Historic Rally Championship (from 1992); the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (2006-2012); and the African, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and South American (Codasur) championships.

A weekend can score for two championships at once where the real calendar did that: the same start line, two points systems.

Key systems

ContinueOne tap advances to the next moment that deserves you. It is the spine of the game.
Programme buildingYou pick the rounds. Entry fees, start money, date clashes and travel are decisions with prices.
Exact moneyEvery figure is stated exactly. Time is real.
Verbal riskDanger is described in words, never as a percentage.
Dynasty and successionDrivers age, retire, are injured and die. Heirs inherit the team, its debts and its titles.
Era rules as dataRule changes live in data, not in year branches in the sim. A ban re-forms the field rather than thinning it.
Recce and pace notesEra-dependent. The RAC Rally ran blind until 1990.
Tyres and serviceRoadside service and crew-changed wheels before the central service park; ice-note crews where the era had them; mousse and control tyres by window.
Car marketHomologation gates, works-only parts, trickle-down and over-the-counter windows by era.
Driver marketWorks locks, buyouts and privateer mobility differ by era. A 1978 privateer is not a 2017 works seat.
Instant ResultHands the rest of a rally to the crew, through the same economics as attended play.
AdvisorGives a default for every card, and is beatable. It is not always right.
